Hello! Welcome to Mom Said, Teen Said!
Yesterday, my daughter and I were having lunch. We were talking a mile a minute like we always do, jumping from subject to subject. Conversation between us flows effortlessly, and we tend to be able to keep up with each others fast minds.
Recently, I started a blogging project. After I saw the movie, Julie and Julia, I wanted to create a blogging project. Moriah, my daughter, also wanted to create a project, but she had not yet found a subject that thrilled her.
Out of no where (the place where all good ideas come from), I made the comment, “wouldn’t it be fun if we did a mother/daughter project?”
Within minutes we were creating and visualizing how much fun it would be. Right there, at the restaurant we came up with our blog name, and ideas on what we would write about. Then guess what? We get our fortune cookies, and guess what Moriah’s fortune says? “You are destined to be a great writer!” wow, goose bumps! As you get to know my daughter you will see, she is a creative, unique and funny writer. She has an original style, that is a pleasure to read. She is private about her writings and keeps most of it to herself.
We plan to allow this project to unfold however it does. I am guessing we will jump all over the place, anything from memories, to opinions (we both tend to have strong individual opinions) to new ideas, there is going to be no subject off limits. Freedom to share, freedom to disagree, freedom to explore, and freedom to be honest.
I am thrilled to start this journey with her. Sit back, buckle up and enjoy the ride! I hope we entertain you, and I look forward to getting deeper into my daughter’s mind and heart!
